advanced blanket

about

This artfolio is online since June 2006, but by that time its name was Mystic Rain. Then in April 2008 I bought blind-dreaming.net and put Mystic Rain on hiatus for a complete recoding, but never went through it. Instead, I decided to start it all over from the beginning with a new name. Advanced Blanket was chosen because this pic was funny and it related to the site theme - think of Linus' blanket, that's what art is to me. The new website opened up on May 25, 2009.

The current layout features my original character Miranda.

About me

I care for ideas until they're ripe, then I go and shake the tree. That's how I work.

My name is Rosangela, but please call me dubiousdisc; I'm twenty (born on March 5, 1990) and I'm from Italy; I'm currently studying illustration, maybe to become a comic artist? or something like that.
I'm a shameless Pokémon geek and generic gamer with a special fondness for Samus Aran. I'm also a CSS ninja with fixed background shurikens. To sum it up, I'm your average nerd who shuns away from social settings, is incredibly shy and spends time working on stuff which no one besides her understands.

Mail me at dubiousdisc[@]gmail[.]com (remove square brackets). Though you should probably have a look at the website FAQ before doing so.

Legal and credits

I do not claim to own the videogame series on which my fan works are based; Pokémon, Metroid, Kirby and so on are property of the respective owners. Nevertheless, I do own the derivative works themselves, which are not to be reproduced, edited or re-used without my explicit permission. This applies also to original works with the only difference that characters and concepts are mine too.

This website was coded in gedit, designed with The GIMP and launched on the web via FireFTP. The current layout uses some textures from Gallerie1.de and CGtextures.com; the banners use textures from Sanctae, FEEL Resources and Bama-lichi.
The Javascript used for keyboard navigation in the galleries is an edited version of a similar script found in a website on which I couldn't find any terms of use for it, so thanks to whoever made the original one and let's hope they don't mind me reusing it.
