Kamaitachi are, indeed, cool.

I did write the page about Sneasel and the kamaitachi and it’s not a rip-off of the Trivia on the Angeltower Dex Sneasel page! I wrote a lot more about the kamaitachi itself and found more similarities between Sneasel and the Japanese demon.
This also makes me think that I should really make a fanlisting for weasels. weird that nobody has thought of that before, I believed they were a common favorite among people on the Internet :O

On other news, I’m at my parents’ home right now. Yesterday I had a long talk with my mom about school work and she told me a lot about how to improve (in case you didn’t know, she’s an artist, so she does know). I was also doing a drawing of some eggs on a cloth as a school assignment and she joined me, and it was very interesting to compare the results; hers was based on clean lineart, mine on masses and shading. Even the way we held the pencils was completely different - she kept the pencil from the top and moved it at a 60° angle from the sheet, I kept it from the tip and moved it so that the left side of the hand would constantly touch the paper and get dirty. Too bad I had to paint over mine as part of the assignment, I’d very much have liked to post both drawings here.

Now I’m going to the optician. I think my sight has gotten worse recently. :|

  1. Hi!:-D
The kamatachi’s page is really good, and I love the illustrations :D
Seein how the lineart of a person shows his spirit makes me think, really.

  3. Well actually I didn’t say that :B but you’re right. My mom is a very spiritual person and her lineart was almost evanescent; I consider myself a down-to-earth person and my work have a solid feel. She also said my drawings become really great when I color them, but I’m not sure about what this could mean.
As for the optician yes, my sight got worse, now it seems I’m not only very myope but also a bit astigmatic. next my eyes will fall off my head

  7. WoW, japanese mitology is very interesting… You could write a complete saga about it xD!
And your idea about the fanlisting is absolutely fantastic *w*! I love your fanlistings xD and I will join it immediatly!

Your mother is an artist too? Your are very lucky, because she can understand all about your works…I sometimes have some problems to tell my mother what really means writing. Sometimes I have the impression that she considers it like a simple hobby and not a possibile future…-.- So I try every time to explain her my view. xD, poor her, at the end she must assure she has understood x°D!
And your mother can also teach you some tricks ^w^.
I don’t konw so much, but the idea to held the pencil at 60° is very witty. When I draw I have always dirty hands XP.
But, you will publish your work, won’t you? Now I want to see it! *ç*

Happy Holidays and, of course, byez xD!

  8. and I could open a fanlisting about the kamaitachi as well but then maybe it would look weird, owning the fanlisting for Sneasel and weasels and the kamaitachi XD Everybody seems to like Japanese mythology and well, I can see why.

My mother can sure understand my works and teach me some tricks, but as my style is so different from hers I don’t always find it easy to use her knowledge to my advantage. For instance, the whole thing about keeping the pencil from the tip works perfectly for her as her style is very clean, but it would take off all depth to my work as keeping the pencil almost horizontal enables me to draw quickly. It’s just a matter of style, really :O
and besides that I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, the real problem comes when the paper becomes dirty because of that :B
I don’t have the pencil version of that artwork anymore but I will surely post the finished painting along with all the homework I’m working on during these days. when I’ll be finished, I mean. I’m currently working on an acrylic monochromatic reproduction of The Tempest by Giorgione. quite a demanding assignment, also because I’ve never made a whole painting with acrylics before this one. I CAN’T EVEN RELAX DURING THE WINTER BREAK SOB SOB
