MIGHTY DRAGON RICE!
Guess what me and VG have been doing today
THIS IS A MAJOR WIN FOR US.
well actually it was mostly him doing all the hard work like cooking the rice and rolling the sushi but hey. not like he would’ve let me do the important stuff anyway.
Also, if you think making sushi is easy, think again. Sushi makes Sachertorte look like a beginner’s recipe. Preparing rice alone takes two hours. ANYWAY!
OVERSIZED SUSHI ROLLS with smoked salmon and avocado! and didn’t they look good. they tasted fine too, though smoked salmon didn’t go very well with soy sauce. not that we were going to buy a whole salmon only for these, lol. we were using some pre-packaged fish used for tapas and we had already used all of the tuna and trout.
Second batch of rolls, with smoked halibut and avocado. In the middle, my goofy attempts to make some use of the remaining halibut. These tasted exceptionally good, though some of them didn’t look perfect because of me overstuffing the roll. B:
TO SUM IT UP, THIS WAS GOOD. VERY VERY GOOD. I WANT MOAR.

Next time you’ll think that you can stuff an avocado plus halibut into an osomaki, I’ll make a better use of the fish knives.

Blue: too late, there’s no more sushi for you
Stefano: well, you should. if you like the taste of raw fish, I mean. I’ve found that usually it’s hard to dislike Japanese cuisine once you’ve tried it, unless you utterly despise seafood or have some kind of intolerance to fish-based dishes. Personally I like sushi, but I prefer tempura. mmm shrimps.

Hm, reading between the lines, it seems like your team works with VG as cook and you as… hm…. Well, let’s say you give an important moral support ^_^”. Anyway, if the both of you didn’t have any intestinal problems, it’s really been a culinary success; I’ve always been a bit diffident toward Japanese cuisine, but seen from this photo it doesn’t seem as terrible as I figured it.
Maybe it’s been an error posting these photos here. Get prepared to have me and Kameo for dinner, one of these evenings A__A. After a long trip, you can’t deny us a good meal u__u.
That’s all. Oh, I feel like there are some grammatical errors, but I’m not like checking this post. Lazy, lazy boy. Forgive eventual errors and the writer’s lazyness. Bye =3

hey, I did cut all the ingredients and the rolls and prepared the sauce and >:O and yeah cutting the rolls isn’t easy. at all. you can’t imagine how frail those seaweed sheets are.
the “zomg I’m not eating raw fish ew ew ew” is the main problem people seem to have with Japanese cuisine. Once you’ve get past it, it’s good. gooood. In my opinion, fish tastes better when it’s raw. but then, if you just can’t bear eating raw fish you could always try tempura and such, which are similar to a lot of fish meals from mediterranean cuisine. that’s obviously if you like fish and seafood in the first place.
also lol you’re welcome, but you’re going to die of starvation before we’ll be finished, just so you know

I’ll take with me a sandwich, no problem. And I believe Kameo actually eats air, no problem even with her, so. I’ll take her with me just to eat her portion A__A. It’s ok for the next Saturday, 8 o’clock?
Nelvis, January 11, 2009 - 8:51 pm
Oh, but I’ve never eaten raw fish, nor crustacea u____ù
